Profile:Dr. Mohammed Helal Uddin
Dr. Mohammed Helal Uddin serves as a Professor in the Department of economics, University of Dhaka. Previously he worked as an Associate Professor at the same University and Lecturer at the Department of economics, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet.
Dr. Helal obtained his Ph.D in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of Maryland at College Park, USA in 2008. Before that he completed MS in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the same institution in 2004. He completed his MA in Economics from the University of Florida at Gainesville, USA in 1999. He obtained BSS(Hons.) and MSS in Economics from the University of Dhaka.
He served as a consultant to many international organizations including World Bank Group, International Labour Organization (ILO), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), World Food Programme (WFP) of the United Nations. He also worked with Public Utility research center (PURC), University of Florida.
He has keen interest in Applied Microeconomics, Industrial Organization, International Trade, Energy, Environmental, and Natural Resource Economics, and Agricultural Economics.
